The TMHR Lab will likely be accepting one student beginning doctoral training in the fall of 2023. To find out more information about the clinical psychology doctoral program at Northern Illinois University, please visit http://www.niu.edu/psyc/graduate/clinical. The deadline for applying is December 1st.
Graduate students in the TMHR lab are encouraged to collaborate with ongoing projects and develop their own related areas of expertise in trauma and recovery. Opportunities include interviewing participants, administering and coding psychological assessments, data analysis, undergraduate supervision, and manuscript writing. We have an active lab and are devoted to disseminating high quality research. We regularly attend national and international conferences, and publish our research findings in quality journals.
Collaboration is also available with other faculty members in the psychology department with expertise in family violence, child abuse, racial trauma, and post-traumatic stress. Our research facility here on campus, the Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual Assault, promotes and facilitates related research.
If you are a prospective graduate student interested in joining the TMHR lab and would like to know more about our current and future research agenda, contact us.
